Luminite Ore is a somewhat common ore that spawns in the Nether. It spawns in veins of 4 or less and can spawn at all levels. Luminite Ore changes colors, and drops anywhere from 3 to 8 luminite crystals when mined. There are 10 different types of crystals, all of which are different colors. The ore has a chance to drop white, red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, blue, purple, pink, or black luminite crystals. Luminite also drops a fairly large amount of experience, only topped by Experium Ore.

Luminite crystals have various uses. They can be used to make different color luminite blocks. These are semi-transparent and glow like the ore. All 10 crystals have their respective blocks. In addition, luminite crystals can be combined with redstone to create a luminite disco block. Disco blocks flash from color to color, and can be used to make a dance floor among other purposes. The only colors the disco block does not include are white and black.

Luminite crystals are necessary to create starconium shards, used for the starconium sledgehammer and demonite furnace.
